Pulp and paper
The pulp and paper industry deals with the production of paper, cardboard and other paper products. The main raw material used in this industry is cellulose, which is usually obtained from wood. The papermaking process involves many steps, including pulping and dissolving cellulose, pulping, forming paper sheets, drying and finishing, among others. Depending on the type of paper and applications, the production process can be modified, and the differences result from, among others, the type of raw material, chemical additives or the method of forming paper sheets. At all stages of production, in pumps or mills, mechanical seals are used. The paper production process involves a large amount of water and energy consumption, which poses challenges to manufacturers in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. Seals play an important role in this regard.
